Group Blog

 I am so excited to have finalized my group for the final task assignment. After reaching out to some of my classmates via text I have decided to work in a group of 4. I will be working with Chloe Stein, Tess Pancera, and Blake Booysen. In the past I have worked with Tess and Chloe on other group projects in different classes. This is not the case with Blake. I was introduced to him by Chloe, who is friends with him. She assured me and Tess that Blake is very trustworthy and a hard worker. Another plus is that we all live within 10 minutes of each other. This will make meeting up for filming very easy. We exchanged phone numbers through Chloe and created a group text message. We named it AICE Media Project. Blake mentioned in the group chat that he has a drone and has good video/photography equipment. Chloe has the newest version of a gopro, and both Blake and Chloe have editing software. Having access to this technology and equipment will be very helpful during this process. Having that takes away some of the stress of not being able to use school computers that have the software due to COVID. Although Tess and I do not have any special equipment, we will work in other ways to positively contribute. Next on our list is to begin brainstorming. We will individually come up with a few pitch ideas for our film. I am going to make sure that my ideas are practical and can be carried out. Once we come up with some good ideas, we will have a group discussion to figure out which one we like the most.

Improvements made on 1st day

 Although we did complete a lot on our first day of filming, we did run into a couple of issues. We knew that everything was not going to run perfectly smooth on our first day so we weren’t shocked when they appeared. One of the first issues we ran into was holiday decorations. My group mate Chloe doesn’t have decorations in her house for the holidays so when we originally planned to film we didn’t have to worry about decorations. My parents on the other hand decorate the entire house with Christmas decorations. When we found out we needed to switch locations, my mom said that it was unreasonable to take everything down and then put it back up. We spent about 30 minutes picking up little things that made the house look less like a VRBO. I talked to my group mates and mentioned maybe switching the time of year to winter break. Decision on Filming

We have started our marketing campaign and figured out the music and technology needed to produce the film. Everything is continuing to improve when it comes to the professionalism of the sites. In addition, we have 14 followers on Instagram which is a lot considering that we have not posted anything yet. The other 3 social media sites are also growing. The props are still on track to arrive by the end of this week. Our script is revised and edited. Also, all our cast remains safe and Covid-19 free. Now that the preparation is moving along, the next step is to begin our first round of filming.  Because of COVID-19 and vacation days from school, it was challenging to build a filming schedule. This was even more difficult because there are 4 people in our group. Even though we had challenges, our schedule was built and finalized a couple of weeks ago.
