Decision on Filming

Image
We have started our marketing campaign and figured out the music and technology needed to produce the film. Everything is continuing to improve when it comes to the professionalism of the sites. In addition, we have 14 followers on Instagram which is a lot considering that we have not posted anything yet. The other 3 social media sites are also growing. The props are still on track to arrive by the end of this week. Our script is revised and edited. Also, all our cast remains safe and Covid-19 free. Now that the preparation is moving along, the next step is to begin our first round of filming.  Because of COVID-19 and vacation days from school, it was challenging to build a filming schedule. This was even more difficult because there are 4 people in our group. Even though we had challenges, our schedule was built and finalized a couple of weeks ago. Because of thanksgiving break we decided that it would be best not to film. This had been previously decided in our original schedule....

Film Preperation

After starting the marketing campaign, we have begun planning to film. We want our film to be as professional as possible, so we are working hard to plan out every detail. The most important thing needed for a good film is a good camera. We will be using 3 or 4 different cameras. For different parts of the film we are going to use a different one to capture specific angles. We have a Gopro, a drone, an iPhone 11 camera, and a canon camcorder. We will use the drone for the arial shots and the gopro for the establishing shots because of the quality. For the rest of the shots and movements we will use the camcorder, or I phone.  Over the break I tested out the Gopro which I own as well as the camcorder. In addition to insuring that the technology is working, we need to make sure that every character has a costume and the props needed. Because the holiday season is approaching, we needed to order our props in a timely manor so that they would arrive on time. Amazon was our best bet whe...

Marketing Campaign

Marketing for a film is an important step for insuring that a film is successful. As a team we know that this is critical. Using wixsite, we have created a website for our film. Luckily, we were able to get a website with the title 2020 Vision, so it is easy to identify. In addition, we created 4 other social media sites. We signed up for a Facebook, twitter, Instagram and YouTube. When creating the Facebook page we ran into a little problem. When you sign up for a Facebook page you must include a name. We tried to use our movie name 2020 Vision but it said that the name was invalid. We contacted Ms. M and she told us to create the account using one of the group members names. After the account was created she gave us instructions to change the name. After creating these 4 additional social media sites, we added their links to the website for easy access. My group member Blake created a profile picture that is perfect for the sites. It is red and blue neon and has a TV that says 2020 ...

Storyboard for short film

Storyboard Pages 1 and 2: Road Trip to the Vacation House (2020 Vision) Throughout these 2 pages, our goal through the storyboarding process was to portray the overall purpose of the scene. In the early interpretation of this script, the heading read, “Four high school friends are on their way to their vacation home to celebrate spring break 2020. The city is packed with tons of spring breakers and traffic is at an all time peak. The four friends continue happily into Fort Lauderdale, and are excited for the warm weather and beautiful beaches.” As such, we thought it was appropriate to include drone footage of a lot of the scenery. Additionally, we included multiple mid shots of the individual characters as they shared their thoughts and ideas. Finally, we also included multiple shots of the car the characters would be driving in. This adds an additional action packed element to the scene, as the car rolls down the street with the drone following it with a profile and head on shot. O...

Planning for short film

Schedule- The schedule for the 2020 Vision Production goes as follows: throughout the first week of December, we are going to wait on further guidance from our respective teachers, as the situation with the ongoing pandemic is unknown. Moving onto the second week, with an anticipated due date of early spring, we want to begin an in-depth plan on how the production process will go, including the shots, camera angles, mise-en-scene, and other various aspects. On the third week of December, the filming process will begin. On December 16th and 17th, filming will take place at actors' respective houses. This includes the scenes of the actors arriving at the houses, the news broadcast, and other various scenes. Then on the 18th, we will go to our local Publix, assuming permission is given, and then on the 19th, to the testing center. In the third week of December, we will first begin with planning the editing techniques and timeframe, and then follow up with 3 days of consecutive editi...
