Film Postcard

 We have been working very hard to complete our film on time the past couple of weeks. Despite this, we are a little behind. To help speed up the process I decided to create the film postcard. My younger brother had previously had acess to Canva. This site is used to create flyers and postcards. I had used the site via his account in the past to create other posters for events. Ms. M also recommened that this was a good site to use. Instead of using my brothers account I started a new account using my gmail. It was very simple and most importantly free. Once setting up the account I went back and reviewd the guidlines for the card. The colors of our logo are black, blue, and red. I thought it would be best to stick to that colo scheme. I choose a postcard with a black backround.  I then emailed the logo from my phone to my computer. I then downloaed the photo and insterted it onto the front page. The color blue used on the logo was not on the site so I made the words white and red. On the front of the card I put the names of the directors. On the back I included the showtimes, location of showtimes, social media hadles, and website. I generated a QR code that when scanned, goes directly to the films website. After making a rough draft, I sent it to our film group chat. I took their suggestions and edited the postcard.

Improvements made on 1st day

 Although we did complete a lot on our first day of filming, we did run into a couple of issues. We knew that everything was not going to run perfectly smooth on our first day so we weren’t shocked when they appeared. One of the first issues we ran into was holiday decorations. My group mate Chloe doesn’t have decorations in her house for the holidays so when we originally planned to film we didn’t have to worry about decorations. My parents on the other hand decorate the entire house with Christmas decorations. When we found out we needed to switch locations, my mom said that it was unreasonable to take everything down and then put it back up. We spent about 30 minutes picking up little things that made the house look less like a VRBO. I talked to my group mates and mentioned maybe switching the time of year to winter break. Decision on Filming

We have started our marketing campaign and figured out the music and technology needed to produce the film. Everything is continuing to improve when it comes to the professionalism of the sites. In addition, we have 14 followers on Instagram which is a lot considering that we have not posted anything yet. The other 3 social media sites are also growing. The props are still on track to arrive by the end of this week. Our script is revised and edited. Also, all our cast remains safe and Covid-19 free. Now that the preparation is moving along, the next step is to begin our first round of filming.  Because of COVID-19 and vacation days from school, it was challenging to build a filming schedule. This was even more difficult because there are 4 people in our group. Even though we had challenges, our schedule was built and finalized a couple of weeks ago.
